Madewell Flagship, SoHo
We worked with the architect and general contractor to fabricate a new entry door and
surround for the Madewell flagship in SoHo. The building is in a landmark district, and the
entry was modified to meet accessibility requirements.
The existing step was removed, which lowered the entry and required extending the door
opening. That change affected the proportions of the storefront, so the door, surround, and
columns were redesigned together.
The final assem
bly includes a new nine
-
foot door and matching surround, scaled to the
updated opening while maintaining the storefront
’
s overall composition.
