We worked with the architect and general contractor to fabricate a new entry door and surround for the Madewell flagship in SoHo. The building is in a landmark district, and the entry was modified to meet accessibility requirements.
The existing step was removed, which lowered the entry and required extending the door opening. That change affected the proportions of the storefront, so the door, surround, and columns were redesigned together.
The final assem bly includes a new nine - foot door and matching surround, scaled to the updated opening while maintaining the storefront ’ s overall composition.

This townhous e underwent a full renovation in the West Village landmark district, including reconstruction of the stoop and masonry pediment.
We recreated the entry door based on the original design. Since the original door was not available, we referenced adjacent pro perties on the block to determine the appropriate profiles and details. The door was then fabricated to match those elements, including carved moldings.
